Kitchen manufacturers-looking for recommendations

About to begin kitchen extension so need to plan for what’s actually going to occupy the space.

Id be most grateful if anyone has any experience you’d like to share? Recommendations or indeed, who to avoid.

Thank you in advance

What is your budget for the kitchen that will affect recommendations.

Dd is currently having a design drawn up by Homebase.
She was impressed by their cabinets In the showroom.

IKEA. Cabinets in all shapes and sizes and a 25 year guarentee. Our IKEA kitchen in our old house was far superior to the more expensive one in our new house!

You have to do a bit more legwork yourself, but it’s worth it. Avoid their appliances though.

We had ikea when we lived in London. Loved the design! But it was a pain having to traipse back to ikea and the queues when a bit was missing or broken.
This last time we went for Magnet as designs were lovely (pull out larder!) and the showroom wasn't too far. When we were missing a bit the salesman drove out to deliver it to us!

DIY Kitchens. Fab quality, transparent pricing. Will colour match any colour and they also offer bespoke unit sizes. You have to design the kitchen yourself using their online planner which isn't as daunting as it sounds. Highly recommend.

DIY Kitchens. We bought from them late last year and are extremely happy with our new kitchen.

We got quotes from Wren, Howdens and B&Q and DIY came in a lot cheaper and there units are better made.

They are recommended by Which and I know a lot of kitchen fitters recommend them

Thank you folks

we had kind of discounted Ikea so good to hear a few recommendations.

Also good to hear positive stories about DIY kitchens. Perhaps the thing that put us off was the distance to the showroom. We’re in Scotland. @@mydogisthebest @skippy67
would it be wise to do a wee road trip to see the kitchens in person?

Thanks again.

We went to the showroom but we only live less than a 2 hour drive away. I think though we would have visited even if it had been a distance as we wanted to actually see the kitchens.

We went to the showroom. We're London based, but stopped in on the way home from a visit to the Lake District. This was in 2021. They've since built a new even more impressive showroom. You can do a virtual tour of it on their website.
