PAINTING BATHROOM TILES

Dear All

Im in process of buying a home but it has what you
would call a very colourful bathroom

What would someone suggest 📧
Option 1:- start again and put a new bathroom and tiles in etc
Option 2 :- pain the bright mauve / Pink tiles

Or any other suggestions welcome ??

I’ve never seen painted tiles look good tbh, they look so ‘flat’ and don’t seem to last well. Can you afford to redo?
If not, then I hope someone can recommend a good paint that doesn’t end up scratched & chipped so easily.

I wouldn't paid them. I would have all the tiles removed, skim the walls and put new tiles up where I wanted them - which wouldn't be floor to ceiling.

I quite like the coloured tiles, it’s going to be very time consuming painting all those tiles.

I’ve painted over tiles (wall and floor) in my bathroom with 3V3 (or is it V33?) brand and it’s lasted well even in the shower 5 years later. I used a grout pen to draw the grout lines back. The paint is matt but I prefer that to shiny tiles anyway. This was just a temporary facelift until I can do the bathroom properly but I get a lot of compliments about my bathroom.

I used a foam roller and did around 5 or 6 very thin coats. One thing I wished I’d spent more time on is removing any silicon thoroughly as the paint doesn’t go on as smoothly where there’s some residue.

I’ve just checked and there seems to be loads of tile paint colours available now. When I did it, there were only a handful. I would definitely do it again.
