What's 'in' for curtain patterns at the moment?

We are having our hall, stairs and landing decorated over the next few weeks and I'm thinking of making some new curtains. Attached photo is the current material (a bit darker in reality). The carpet is a deep red wine and we'll be having a cream colour on the walls. Any thoughts on current fabric trends or anything you have seen that would work well?

In my world, on-trend is whatever makes your heart sing, be it geometric, floral, abstract or plain fabric.
Could you visit a department store, such as John Lewis? They have many rolls of fabric and a huge number of swatch books.
Personally I would choose a bold abstract floral in a plain-walled hallway. Other tastes are available!

If it's "on trend" now surely it will be looking dated in a few years? Surely you want the results of your hard work to last a long time?

Just choose something you love, but isn't too 'way out'.
