We moved into our farmhouse a couple of years ago - it had recently had oatmeal carpet fitted on the stairs and the whole of the upstairs floor - 4 bedrooms (2 very large), 2 bathrooms and long hallway. At the time I thought hmm interesting choice, that’s going to have to go at some point. With two dogs, one a puppy, and two cats the carpet is really starting to look grim - it shows every stain and it doesn’t matter how much I scrub, it’s got grubby spots all over (professional carpet cleaning has had minimal effect). I want to get some of the house redecorated and will change the flooring at the same time. Any recommendations for carpets that won’t show every stain, that will work in a 17th century farmhouse (and that won’t require me to sell a kidney 😬)?
