No cover duvet ?

Is there such a thing - if so can anyone recommend a good brand - and how well they wash ?

fed up of putting a cover on duvet only for DH to somehow get it unravelled in his sleep

I got my kids cheap coverless duvets from Online Home Shop. Total gamechanger. So easy to wash and dry. Kids don't end up tangled.
When we've decorated our room I'll be looking for a nicer couple for us.

The ones we have won't be warm enough for winter but I frequently swap bed with my son and his coverless duvet is lovely. In winter I'll add a blanket for each of them I think.

We have some from here. for our children's double beds. Not sure I'd get a king size in my washing machine.

And obviously you don't get the same choice of covers as you do with a traditional set up

I have two, different togs for winter and summer. They are double bed size and the thicker one, 10.5 tog just fits in my 8 kg washing machine, I doubt a larger one would fit in. They both dry really quickly either on the line outside or on an airer indoors. Mine are both Night Owl ones, in plain grey. As far as I recall, there is not much choice in colours or patterns but I could be wrong. Price wise, dearer than a supermarket type quilt but as I don’t need to buy new covers, not too bad.

I live on my own and use a flat sheet between me and the duvet so I don’t need to wash them very often. I air the bed every day ( ok, so I’m too lazy to make the bed!) and wash the duvets at the end of the season before I put them into storage. This is the same principle we used to follow with duvets when I lived in Switzerland as a child, my mum used to having them out of the window every few weeks but they were only washed once a year.
