Might be a bit of a niche request but does anyone have fly screens fitted to their windows that they can recommend please?

Thanks

I tried DIY ones for years before getting the local window place to supply and fit them. They're worth every penny, especially the concertina one for the patio doors.
I'm abroad though so can't recommend a UK supplier.

Those JML ones look good for big windows & doors, probably could be cut down for smaller windows.

Following with interest.
A small window needs replacing and I was just searching for window frames with built in fly screens if such a thing exists.

I like the separate door fly screen you see on Australian soaps and would get one if possible.

Yes, I had two fitted during my recent house refurb. One in the kitchen and one in the downstairs bathroom. They were made to measure. My builder did the measurements, I see the company images etc of the two windows and we talked it through on the phone and they then sent me back drawings, quotes etc.
my builder then fitted them in. I am not 100% sure you need the services of a builder. They have been fitted since last November and I have been using them through then whenever I want to keep the windows open.

Happy to provide further information/details.

It drives me mad that we cannot get decent fly screens for windows and doors here without them looks cheap or being stupidly expensive. I want screens like in North America.

currently saving up for these

A link or pics would be great if possible? Is the window easy to open and the fly screen built outside or inside?

Internal fly screens fitted with Velcro just seem a faff.

I've got external magnet ones from Amazon. Brilliant. I've never understood why we don't have fly screens here.

BlossomToLeaves · 04/07/2024 14:45

I've got these ones, and I'm happy enough with them - they are retrofitted, so sit on top of the normal window, but ti's not that unslightly. Obviously integrated ones when the place was built would have been better, but these work fine and were not very expensive.

I love Phantom screens too. They are very expensive though. Fitted them to a few windows. Now looking for a cheaper option for the rest.
