Help with colour scheme

We are moving house soon and I really want to change my colour scheme. We currently have a corner sofa which is grey, this is staying. The carpet in the new house is also grey and that will also be staying.

We'd like to go for a green colour mix. The walls are currently an off white with one wall a very pale shade of grey. We currently have a white square coffee table and a white TV stand with a wooden top - both from IKEA which we may have to change as they may too big for the room, as we're downsizing and our living room is a lot smaller.

I just don't know where to start.

Do I go for patterned curtains? Plain curtains but then have patterned cushions? Do I find a cushion I like and then choose colours from that.

Our previous house was just too grey and I want to move away from that.

The attached photo is the look I'd like - sofa is very similar but in a darker grey.

What aspect does the room have, for a start, and how much light does it get? What time of day do you mostly use it?

Also, you say you want to move away from grey, but the photo of the look you say you like is very grey — grey cushions, grey curtains, what looks like light grey walls, greyish rug, grey accessories, as well as the grey sofa you will be keeping…?

I would find some curtains you like, that work with the sofa and carpets. You can then add in cushions/wall colours from there. Or add some accent colours (cushions) in for a bit more zing if you wanted to!
Lots of different greens you could use to make a really dramatic room.
