Really awkward hallway decorating

I have the most awkward lay out in my landing/stair, mostly due to two windows on the landing and hallway. The wall run is so boring and needs something to add interest and dimension but I cannot figure out for the life of my how to make panelling work, as it would have to run through the windows. Any advice or panelling alternative?

Well you could do the panelling below the windows or up to the top of the windows (top with a picture rail) so it doesn't cut into the windows. Or just have it on the side where there isn't a window. Personally I'd have a gallery wall of family photos or memorabilia down that corridor.

Personally I'd put a very big mirror on the opposite wall to the windows to bounce light around, and then run a thin floating picture shelf with a ledge (or brass rod on the outside of it) along that wall. You could stand pictures on it, thin ceramic vases, candles etc and they wouldn't fall off. Then some big art.

Take a look at Houzz for some inspiration
