Feng shui or just improve my living room please

Not quite sure this is the right forum but there isn't really one for furniture placement...

I'm always slightly uncomfortable in my living room and think it is related to having a window behind me and door sorta behind to the right of where I sit...I also hate my corner sofa so looking to sell it and get a normal sofa and maybe a couple of armchairs.

This diagram show the size of room and windows/door/fireplace. And second shows current placement of sofa, TV and sideboard plus a kids (chaos) zone in corner.

I've considered putting TV on chimney breast - and not against it but am slightly worried about getting a sore neck and mantel on fireplace is probably about 1.5 meters high (should measure that to be sure)...

Any one got any inspiration or ideas?

I can only see the 'empty room' image?
No 2nd picture.

Our living room is only slightly wider - wall to fireplace TV (not ideal as too high but cabled in so didn’t change it). We have a sofa “floating”, as it’s too far from the TV if placed on the opposite wall. There’s 2 meters of space behind with a sideboard. You could pop a slim console table with lamps behind the sofa too. It doesn’t solve the fact the window/door is still behind you. Otherwise sofa on the wall facing the bay window plus arm chairs “floating”. However facing the window could be an issue if you get a lot of sun, south facing.

fit the sofa into the bay window area (yes window at your back) chairs to the L&R depending on the size of course (might need to be loveseat vs large couch and narrower type arm chairs) then the TV on the wall that backs onto the bathroom.

I'd have the back of the sofa by the chimney (with space to walk around it) and tv where the sideboard is. You need to be able to see the door from where you are sat and not have your back to the window to be in a feng shui 'power position'.

Thanks for the replies! I kinda get the sofa in bay thing but also not sure I could cope with the massive window being behind me also might feel very far away from the TV if on wall backing on to bathroom...

So there is a window where the sideboard is so not really a TV option...I think one thing all the feng shui pics seem to have in common is no TV so maybe having such a want/need means the peace of feng shui is just not something I can hope to achieve?

The second diagram looks like a good idea feng shui wise.
