Rechargeable lamps

I'm looking for a rechargeable table lamp that is reliable - has anyone purchased one that's still working months/ a year later?

There are loads on amazon but the reviews seem to vary. I'm tempted by the &Tradition lamps from Nordic Nest but I'm wondering exactly how well any of these lamps work a year later.

I wouldn't mind splurging if I knew the lamp would last!

I've had this one for a few years and it's great. So great that I went back and bought another. It comes in other colours too:

I have read reviews where people said the ones with dark shades don't give much light. You have to lift it to turn it on as the touch button is on the underside of the base, so you need two free hands to turn it on (or occasionally a hand and another body part works!)

I also have one of these for over a year - it's very pretty, small. I find it a bit hard to find the dimness level I want on this one, but you don't have to lift it up to turn it on like the Hay PC above.

Oh here's the second link, am not sure what I did there: www.nordicnest.com/brands/ferm-living/meridian-table-lamp/?variantId=46448-03

I bought one recently from pooky lights - too early to tell how well it will last but hopefully a long time as it was expensive! But I had been looking for years for the right style...

USB charge/or not one from Dunelm.. 20 quid well spent...

I've got a supercheap USB speakerlight I bought about 5 years off Amazon that still works well.So I think the rechnology is pretty robust and you don't need to worry, particularly with a brand like &Tradition. Do you like the Panton flowerpot lights? They are gorgeous!

Thanks all for your replies - I've only just seen the discussion after my post disappeared for a few months.

There are some lovely alternatives here:
@ramfeezled I saw the Hay portable lamp on an instagram feed and loved it. The sky blue one is on offer on Nordic Nest. I love the Meridian lamp though - such a stylish design.

@Pleasehelpmedress I've been mulling over the Pooky rechargeables too

@Julyshouldbesunny Great to know there are much cheaper and effective options

@JaninaDuszejko There are some really juicy colours in the flowerpot range. Wish I could afford half a dozen!

Another vote for Pooky rechargeables here. The light is quite warm, as well, which isn't always the case. I have bought cheaper ones and the charge certainly doesn't last as long (actually, none of them, expensive or cheap, last as long as they claim).

Rechargeables - in my experience - tend to dispel darkness rather than create lots of light. You couldn't light a room with them, but they are handy for dark corners in houses underprovided with electrical sockets/wired in lighting. If anyone has come across a brand that really does pump out light, I'd love to know. DH is always complaining about our house being dark!

@BigSkies2022 I'm like you, needing some light in areas where I don't want the expense of putting in sockets.
It's useful to know none of the rechargeables could be used as task lighting, though.
