Dark blue sofa

What would look good with a dark blue sofa? Currently our wall is dark blue but we are having a change so the sofa will be blue and we don want it to match the wall. We’ve got yellow curtains which will stay. Not sure whether to wallpaper the wall the sofa will be against in something with blues and pops of yellow, or to just paint it one block colour. And then whether to get a lamp in blue or yellow or cream 🤷🏻‍♀️
Any fun suggestions welcome!

I would leave the wall neutral and make the room pop with bright, jewel coloured, coordinating colours. Orange, yellow, green and pink in the right hue can be surprisingly effective! And it's easier to change the whole vibe of the room with accessories.

White walls, really bright white, not magnolia, is very underrated. You can go wild with printed cushions, lampshades and curtauns without it lookong tacky. Have a look on Pinterest for Jewel Lounge.

You could perhaps wallpaper with a neutral light colour with gold flecks. Try searching Neutral Shiny Wallpaper on Pinterest. Have fun!

I would do white walls and a couple of solid yellow cushions in a tactile luxe velvet type of fabric, plus one cushion which is mostly yellow with an accent colour, print or trim and then use the trim/accent somewhere else in the room eg for a throw or in a picture. Have fun!

Little Greene aquamarine mid looks great with our navy velvet sofa.
