Wall panelling

Hello, i’m trying to redecorate my victorian living room to look a bit more formal. I’m going to do that kind of panelling, where there is a library style light under the top part. However the walls aren’t all the same size. There is a chimney breast which is off centre so the wall one side is smaller than the other.

So, should I just keep the panels all the same height but different widths to fit?

Also the ceilings are very high, there’s over a metre over the top of the door. So should I do panels up to door height and then do extra squares lining up above door height? Or just ignore the bit above the door and do panels the rest of it.

Thanks for any advice xx
