Curtain choice with new rug

New rug in place would these curtains look good with it or too much pattern everything else is plain ?

Personally I think the colour and pattern are not right. Sorry!

Should I stick to plain chenille then ? Have silver but contemplating wine as recommended ?

Chenille is not my personal favourite, but I think wine would be better because it picks up a colour in the carpet. You want the rug and the curtain to relate to one another, not compete. Do you have a photo of the wine curtain to post?

I think you're on the right track with the wine. It's a bit dark with the grey sofas, but I agree that the silver is bland. I think you'll be happier with the wine, @Susanlincs !

I would go with a block colour in one of the stronger colours from the rug. Or the gold/mustard from your cushions? The room needs more colour.

Yes the mustard / ochre good idea . I have 3 bay windows and a further flat window in same room will the coloured curtains look ok on 4 windows?

Do you love the rug? Could you give a pic drawing of the room layout.

The rug is new so non negotiable . I had grey before but wanted colours to brighten I love it . Just wanted curtains to add colour.

Perhaps add the wine colour cushions larger then the mustard behind them to tie in the rug. The wine colour ones look good with the silver curtains like in your pic. that might be a cheaper option and see how you feel.

I would stick to neutral colour curtains, especially with 3 windows and bring in the extra colour/patterns with cushions. If you then change the rug in the future, you would not need to change the curtains.

Agree with others, pick a colour from the rug and have curtains to match that.

That seems a good idea will try that With the larger wine cushion would you get 4 to put behind the 4 mustard or just 2 . One for each sofa with 2 mustard and 1 small cream ? Thank you so much this is really helpful
