Floor coverings?

We had to bin 2 large rugs today - moths 😡

They were from our lounge.
The flooring is stone. There's no particular colour scheme in the room at the moment. The rugs were oriental style - mostly deep reds.

I liked the look of them but now reluctant to get wool again after the moth situation.

What other options are there other than leave the floor bare? (Which I can live with but it's not very cosy.)

If we went for similar rugs again, how do we protect against moths?

Keep them clean. You can buy a mothproofing spray for carpets and rugs. but I'd check the reviews first.

Clean as in hoovering regularly? We did that. Or should we do more than that?

I'm sure you do. Any food debris spot-cleaned, I think. Unfortunately, moths think that wool is food anyway.

Yes that's what I was thinking and so wondering about avoiding wool.
