I have just invested finally after months of searching in a John Lewis striped wool rug. I would like some advice whether my current cushions on attached photos will now match currently ochre and small floral or the zig zag which are currently in another room . I am not sure whether a burnt orange plain or red might look better ? Any thoughts/ advice very welcome , the sofa is mid grey and curtains a light grey chenille . Thanks

I like the rug, good buy! I think your room looks lovely, very harmonious. You're asking whether the grey floral cushion or the cream zig zag cushion works best? I prefer the cream zig zag as I think it ties in with the rug and ochre cushions better, but the grey floral one also ties in with the grey curtains and grey/yellow is a good combination. On balance I'd say cream zig zag though.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments and advice . Yes the ochre do look okay just was wondering if I wanted a change as those cushions are years old I quite fancied burnt orange but not sure if they would go as well? I could always change between the 2 colours then ochre for summer orange for winter . As there is a bit of grey in the room I wanted to keep the warmer feel .

Yes to burnt orange. It will pick up from the rug nicely

You could go with a mixture. Your room is 'neutral' and dignified enough to take a range, and I think what you already have in there plus deep red and burnt orange - and any other colours in your rug - would look fabulous.
