I have moved to a new house which has a dining room connected to the kitchen.
can I ask how you have decorated yours please?
do you make them match/flow/similar colours or treat them as separate rooms with different colours?

Depends what effect you want, if you want the illusion of two rooms make a divide and decorate them separately, if you want a flowing feel and it to look big and probably modern keep the colours and flooring the same throughout.

Same flooring, different wall colour. We get different levels of light in each one.

Our kitchen is a bit darker then the dining room is in an extension with skylights and french doors on two walls looking out to the garden so is very light and neutral. It's all about the garden in there, we've got a couple of big plants in there to pull the garden in.

Long walls (ie shared between different rooms) same. Flooring same.
Short wall of diningroom different. Window coverings different.
