Ceiling lights

What are we all putting into 1930s semis? I have some wooden blocks with spotlight things. Hard to describe but they were a bit industrial and I don't know what I was thinking. I need a ceiling fitting of some sort rather than a shade I think but please inspire me !

We've gone for bathroom lights in the kitchen which look great, then just pendants with shades elsewhere in the house.

We bought them from a local shop so I'm not sure where to get them online
but this is a pic taken in not very good light!
The kitchen is extended and doesn't have a very high ceiling so we couldn't have anything too dangly. And didn't want spotlights because of the dust.

What room is it in? And will you be using this ceiling light? (I have kept ceiling lights when renovating as there are elaborate original roses around them, but I never use them in living or bedrooms, only lamps.)
