Wooden floors, bifold doors and sunlight

As above, our dining table will go in front of our bifolds, I would normally put a rug under it and the chairs to save the wooden floor but worried because it’s south facing so we’ll eventually have rug shaped fading on the floor

thoughts, experiences? Maybe I should put floor protectors on the chairs and table?

I’d put felt feet on the dining chairs. Rug under it is going to be harder to clean and really difficult for people to move their chairs in and out. They’d have to pick them up and walk like a turtle carrying their shell if they can’t scoot them in and out

I'd not have a rug under the table. Felt under the chair legs is a good idea. Also if the chairs are unholstered make sure you move them round the table regularly. Mine are in front of my bifolds and the backs of three are really faded after just two years

I find that felt doesn't last, I've got these Teflon gliders on my chairs in the conservatory with an LVT floor

Something similar on my dining room chairs of 20 years, on laminate. Although those are more like hard plastic without the teflon cover amd having just had a look they don't appear to be worn at all, whereas we replaced the ones on the conservatory chairs recently after about 3 years.

I don't remember whether the dining chairs came with them or we fitted them.

Have this set up since ten years. No fading and cosy in the winter sunny in the summer, love it. Laminate though, not wood. Get cafe rated oak laminate to give you the feel and durability.

Wood floors have already gone down 😆
