Hallway inspiration. Sage green?

I am wanting to redecorate the hallway. It’s a large space downstairs (with 7doors- making it very hard to fit furniture) leading to a staircase and smaller halls upstairs. And I am useless at all the planning. Any recommendations on paint colour? I’m thinking sage green, (with wooden flooring/neutral carpet +white bannisters) but any green I seem to try seems too blue/dark etc.

Ideally a paint that is washable/can stand up to the chaos that 4 kids and 2 large dogs will inflict. Generally stick to dulux washable!

I am useless at design/planning but easily pleased. Just recently divorced and wanting to make the house ‘mine’ as I walk in!

Any ideas?

Colour match mizzle

I think sage green would be nice - it's a natural colour and goes with pretty much everything.

I like it - we have it in our kitchen.

We colour matched Old White and Light Blue which are both, bizarrely, safety and not dark.

Have a look at Cromarty Farrow and Ball

Mine has been sage green for 20+ years and I really like it - see various pictures.

Having recently had a sage green kitchen and painted the conservatory a minty green I'd like a change for the hallway, stairs & landing.
Quite fancy raspberry but think maybe too bold!

I think the key thing is how much light it has and what aspect — are you trying to maximise light or not? North-facing will bring out the green tones more strongly. I have Colourtrend Fairy Fort in a north-facing hallway — I decided to go with a warm, deep colour rather than maximising light. I’m really pleased with it.

Mine is Vert de Terre and I love it.

I’m going for green for my flat. So many lovely ones. Like you I struggle to come up with inspiration and good colour combinations etc and Pinterest is my go to. If you search sage large green hallway ideas you’ll get lots of ideas. I am currently looking at Farrow & Balls whirlybird, treron or suffield green . I’m going to get my final choice colour matched. My decorating friend recommended painting a big piece of cardboard with samples and moving them around the area at different times of day/night to see what the colour looks like in different lights.
