What colour kitchen walls? Dark blue cabinets

We're redecorating our small but bright kitchen and have chosen a timber worktop and dark blue cabinets. We want a cosy, boho vibe, nothing too clinical. Any ideas for wall colours? I was thinking a warm ochre but I wonder if it will be a bit much in a small room. We will most likely have black and white check tiles or lino on the floor. Any suggestions welcome!

I did dark grey cabinets and wooden worktop and went with a kind of sage green on the walls which I like.

If you didn't go with your ochre would you regret it? There's your answer. I think we almost always need to follow our instincts so if your vision is to have that colour, let nobody sway you.

How small is small? Any chance of a picture? What about a light terracotta shade, warm and quite bo ho.

If the room is small, could you get navy floor tiles rather than black, to pull it all together?

Pink or orange look great with navy cabinets.

@Allthegoodnamesarechosen Actually I might be able to get DH to agree to that - he's very keen on checked floors but might go for navy.

@Nannyfannybanny I like that idea too.

I think ochre would go with navy cabinets, but check against the wood for the work surfaces to compare undertones. I very much agree with the navy rather than black floor tiles, that will look much more considered.

My first thought was mustard yellow. The ochre will look fabulous.
