I need some prints for my very bare hall. Looking for something at ikea type prices that doesn't look like it has come from Ikea!! Any suggestions where to look? Thanks

Desenio have beautiful prints on really nice quality paper. I have bought quite a few and I could spend hours on the site as there is so much to choose from.

In one stairwell we have some large retro ski prints I got off Facebook for free.

In the downstairs hall I've made a 'gallery wall' of pictures/objects that mean something to us as a family. Not family photos, but stuff collected over the years, with a mirror and key rack mixed in.

In my bathroom I've collected some art from individuals, never paying more than £40 for an original artwork. I follow people I know who are artists/designers and bought them when I liked them and loved supporting people. Craft fairs are a great place to pick up something original

The other place I've bought is ny local auction house. I bought a huge abstract 60s piece for £10, an original oil painting from 1915 for £15. And a few other bits that caught my eye.

I guess, what I'm trying to say, is I'd steer away from the obvious places and look elsewhere.

I'm looking for the same thing, no idea what to get.

Have you tried charity shops? If you can take your time, you can sometimes find some wonderful bits of art going for pennies in local charity shops. I've got some very nice vintage prints of York from a local shop. Even if the pictures aren't up to much, you can always take them out and have some lovely frames, then find postcards or posters and put them in the old frames!
