Curtain / window dressing advice

We desperately need an update in our sitting room. Edwardian semi with a bay window. The radiator is under the window and a sofa is in front of the radiator.
Currently we have curtains that come down to the window sill but they are in need of a revamp.
Question is what?
The upstairs windows have Roman blinds
I'd love full
Length dramatic curtains but then all the heat will be trapped behind them
Any ideas I'm not really keen on shutters because if then have to get them for the other windows and they seem to be dark ( and dusty!!)

I shouldn't really be commenting or giving out advice in this forum, but what about 2 pairs of curtains on each side?
Long ones to do the side of the bay without a radiator, the shorter ones to go above the radiator.
When pulled back, especially if you have a tie, you won't be able to tell. And when shut, the sofa is in front of where you might expect to see floor length curtain.....

what height is the window sill? (What's on it?).

if you aren't moving the sofa, what would be the point in long dramatic curtains?

I love bay windows!! But I don't love trying to sort window dressings for them!!

I don't think I'll move the sofa as the window seems the obvious place for it.
Window sill is about 3 feet from
The floor. Nothing on it.

Move the radiator?

if not possible I think you’ll have to have blinds or sill length curtains. You could have dummy long curtains at either end of the track to give the impression of floor length curtains… blinds in the middle.
