We have just ordered this settee, the colour is olive. We have white walls, the living room has 2 windows in north and south facing so gets a lot of light. I have 0 inspiration or ideas 🙈. Would you go with one colour or 2? Our furniture is all kind of light oak

I think a dusky pink would be lovely with the olive.

I’d stay white to be honest.

F and B Dead Salmon. We have it in a south-facing room and it’s warm and deep-hued, without the blinding effect white can give in a bright room.

It looks good with green.

Pinterest is helpful for visualising colour schemes.

White feels a little dated now - if you want a change - green with a oatmeal/stone shade looks good - more dramatic is the pink-toned paint - like dead salmon which is also looks lovely.

There's a paint colour called dead salmon??! 😂

Wictc · 19/02/2024 08:56

I think pink and green is more dated than white, if that’s something you’re concerned about. If you like a lighter colour, a warm or neutral off white so it doesn’t clash with the light wood furniture

There are much odder F and B paint names! (The ‘dead’ just means it’s a ‘dead flat’ colour, though, not that the paint is the colour of a dead fish.) It’s a great colour.

Thank you, saves me from googling what colour an actual dead salmon would be 😅

A teal or peacock blue could look lovely with that, if you wanted to go more dramatic.

fishfingersandtoes · 19/02/2024 20:17

A coral or dusky pink or an orange would look good. Or a cream rather than white.

F&B Setting Plaster. Something in the peach / coral family.

Dulux natural hessian

mylifeisprettygood · 19/02/2024 20:31

That's lovely. If your room could take it I'd go navy or deep green.
