Decor style, modern traditional or transitional?

After reading the epic thread ‘one things which improved your life’ I’m trying to work out my style. I think what looks wow to me isn’t actually my style.

Does anyone understand the difference between modern traditional and transitional or have an ideas how I can work out what kind of style of decor I like?

Not sure if the differences, but if you're unsure, start Pinterest boards of things you love, not things that wow you. Save Instagram posts. Take photos. I have weird photos of things like moss, or a rusty gate, because I love the colours. I photograph places I visit that I love too. Maybe that will help?

Thank you that’s really helpful. I’ve alway found decorating very confusing and I’ve never thought of the house as a whole before.

After a long time looking at interior websites I’ve decided to ignore visuals and just get what I absolutely love. Whatever makes my heart sing. This means my style is rather eclectic but it works and it makes my environment joyful

For me I just end up with random things which don’t look right. Some people manage to pull of the style you describe and it looks great but it doesn’t work when I do it!
