Upstairs fireplace

I have a 1930’s house and one of the bedrooms has a fireplace. I quite like it and don’t want to remove it but equally are redecorating the room.
many ideas how I can keep it yet make it look better ?

It's soooooo cute, I love it. Please don't paint it, you don't need to do anything with it as it's a neutral colour. Just decorate however you want it will look great with any colour scheme.

I think it’s rather gorgeous as it is! What a find. Please don’t remove it. It’s a fantastic original feature.

I'd definitely expose the hearth, it makes it look odd without it.

Looks great don't do anything to it. Just focus on having some lovely wall decor above it.
