Gloss kitchen..?

We currently just have painted oak shaker style cabinets, really old and the paint is chipping.
We were looking at getting slab gloss cabinets just for the sake of change and I imagine they would be easy to clean, but my friend pointed out finger prints might be an issue.
Anyone any hindsight or advice? Thanks.

If you have kids don't do it! Also with adults to be fair. They show all fingerprints.

Love ours about 5 years old in a very busy house, need a wipe every now and again but look brand new. So much easier than the old wooden ones.

Hmm differing opinions!!

Hate them. Impossible to keep clean and will date quickly.

Don't do it. Absolute nightmare to clean and show all the dust, dirt and water marks. I've just changed to a shaker and it's so much easier

I had a cream gloss slab kitchen in an old house, and loved it. The house we’re in now has a white version, and I can’t stand it- it’s cold and clinical and the fingerprints are very noticeable. I’d love to swap it for a painted shaker style!

Really love mine, so easy to clean and very forgiving of finger marks. My top priority when choosing my new kitchen was ease of cleaning and I couldn’t be happier; ditto with my quartz worktops by the way.

Gloss kitchens are much easier to clean than matte!! A quick wipe with a cloth and any fingerprints are gone. With matte you need actual cleaning stuff.

Although I have never found fingerprints to be bad!

Ours have chrome handles. No fingerprints. They look great and need minimal cleaning. No edges or lips to trap dust and dirt.

I'm surprised by the negative comments on gloss. We have numerous children - gloss kitchen is the easiest to keep clean by miles!! A quick wipe with a damp cloth and it looks pristine. Non-gloss is so much harder to keep clean!
