TV on wall - Where does your Sky box go?

Hi,

We're moving house soon and it needs quite a bit of updating - which I am totally rubbish at.

I don't have the imagination to be able to picture how it could look (and aren't very good at interior design anyway!).

I have seen this which I really like, so my question is if you have your TV on the wall, where are all the plugs/sky box/cables etc, I assume they are all behind it in the wall.

Is it an expensive job to have a whole section of wall built outwards to hold all the 'stuff' behind? How do you access it if there was a fault and you need a new box or something?

Sorry if this sounds really daft, as I said I am clueless at this kind of stuff!!!

If you wanted to send me pics as inspiration please do 🙂

We have a smart TV. No Sky box or anything. All our entertainment is streamed - Netflix, Disney+, etc.

Some people have floating shelves for devices.

You can get a remote device and hide the box in a cupboard

We have our tv mounted on the wall with all the wires behind. They basically dig a channel out and put a plastic tube in, then plaster over it, the plugs are all behind the tv, the sky box is on a unit - that’s for an existing wall.
in our garage conversion he did the same but fitted it into the plaster board and again, plastered over the channel.

Thanks for that.

We've got a builder who is going to do some of the work, I'll add digging out the wall to the list!

Ours is in a cupboard but only after realised the remote doesn't work unless the cupboard door is open, which is annoying.

Have a look at the magic eye I linked

Op pm a media wall you mount it behind the tv. You, builder, whomever needs to make sure there is line of sight and air circulation. Uou can google it.

we have ours on the wall. But not a media wall and have black glass floating shelves, not much bigger than the box, below it, which hold our sound bar also.
