Bedroom colour/wallpaper style ideas

Hello All,

I'm hoping for some inspiration as to how to style my bedroom. As usual I've done things arse about face and have created a headboard which I now have no idea what to will go with it. It's sort of a palish curry yellow with a slight bit of terracotta shading. It has buttons in terracotta fabric. I want to do the bedroom up cheaply so either need to paint all the walls or do a feature wall with some wallpaper and paint the rest. But, I have no idea about colours and what would go with what. We have wood floors, a wood panelled ceiling and white doored sliding wardrobes. I plan on picking up some wood chest of drawers and perhaps some floating bedside tables. So, would anybody have any ideas about colours, patterns etc,,, for wallpaper or paint?

Do you love the headboard? In which case this isn’t a mistake. What else do you love?

Thank you so much for your reply. I love the headboard! I also like William Morris style with lots of patterns and fabrics. The room is light and about 5 metres by 3 metres.

John Lewis and marks both have William Morris type bedding/curtains/soft furnishings/wallpaper in at the moment. I’d take a sample of your headboard fabric in and see if any of the patterns have that shade in them. Then whatever pattern you choose pull other colours from that for the rest of the room.

JL used to do a free interior design service. It’s worth asking if they still offer that in your local store.
