Which white?!

My son wants a half painted wall like this and we’ve picked out a very dark inky blue/black Little Greene Basalt for the lower part of the wall. I have a basic dulux white for the top half and ceilings as am painting over new plaster, but wondering now if it will look too stark against the main colour. If so, which off white would be a good bet? It’s a really tiny room and really don’t want to be spending more on paint if I don’t need to.

If you can find a similar F&B colour I find their website really helpful with giving complementary whites. There is an archive F&B colour called black blue, if similar the recommended "white" is ammonite. If closer to railings then it's blackened.
Alternatively Wevet is a very light grey/white which may go well and not as stark. Ammonite is the warmer of those and blackened the greyest so it would also depend on what you're trying to achieve.

Thanks, there are some complimentary off whites shown on the LG website... French grey pale and slaked lime look lovely. I think I’m just being cheap not wanting to spend another £60+ quid on such a small area in a tiny room when I don’t suppose my 10yo will actually mind either way!

Does anyone know of a cheaper paint similar to slaked lime or french grey pale? It’s a NE facing room so warming would work well.

I have half a tin of slipper satin left over from our bedroom but not sure if that would be ‘white’ enough?

Yes timeless is good or cotton white (dulux)

You can colour match to LG colours - e.g Johnstones. We often do this. The paint isn't identical but the colours are usually a very close match.
