Kitchen flooring how???

Good people of Mumsnet. I'm sick and knackered and my brain is foggy. We desperately need to replace the kitchen vinyl flooring because it is impossible to keep clean. We're planning on a full new kitchen in a couple of years, so I need something cheap and cheerful for now as I've got no idea yet what that's going to look like.

DH and I both have bad backs and can't do much heavy lifting. The bit my befuddled brain can't figure out is whether or not we're going to need to move all of our appliances for the flooring fitters, is this something they will do for us? Or can they just go round them?

Most will do anything if you pay them for it. Best to sort out whats needed and whats not before you start as they have other jobs going. Tiles are best and some are relatively cheap but make sure put down properly otherwise they can crack

Thank you. I hadn't thought about tiles - I'll look into that.

If you have a bad back and struggle with lifting or bending buy a steam mop. It's on a long handle so no food to bend. I'd ask people fitting new tiles or vynal to lift out kitchen appliances so they can get wall to wall. It's much better in case of a leak.
