Looking for some storage ideas for my make up. My dressing table is really cluttered and I don't really want shelves as I think it would look too messy so thinking a tall slim cabinet with one door would look OK. I don't want a mirror as it will have to go next to my existing mirror. Has anyone any inspiration.

Have you thought about getting one made?

I know you said no mirrors but what about replacing your mirror with one of these?

I guess I could replace the mirror, I hadn't thought of that.

I just googled bathroom cabinet without a mirror & loads of different styles came up!

They aren't very deep but may do the job!

I don't really know what I want, I have a small dressing table with a large round mirror above, not much room either side. My dressing table is getting really cluttered and I'd like it to look a little more tidy. I've no room for more drawers so the only think I can think of is a wall cabinet. I've seen a ribbed glass unit at ikea but it's out of stock everywhere and I think it would look too big in the space I have.

Would a make-up organiser do it?

I found this at John Lewis & Partners. What do you think? https://www.johnlewis.com/stackers-super-size-2-drawer-make-up-storage-box/pink-nude/p6367366?tmad=c&tmcampid=7&sshare=jlappioss_Y29tLmFwcGxlLlVJS2l0LmFjdGl2aXR5LkNvcHlUb1Bhc3RlYm9hcmQ=

If you get one of those, my advice would be to get one with a lid. I bought a couple years ago I still have them but they really annoy me because they get dusty down in the compartments and are a serious pain to clean. The worst one is lipstick organiser I have. It's useful but it's dreadful for cleaning out. I end up having to wash it and let it dry. The faff of cleaning it or it learing at me all dusty probably outweighs its usefulness. I should really throw it away I suppose but then I think, well it is useful...

The other option could be to buy a different dressing table with maximum storage including behind the mirror or a slightly bigger one like this type of thing which is footprint small but big on storage

Here are some other options for mirror replacement with storage

Also ebay, etsy and so on usually have lots of options - I would just look for wall mounted cupboards and see what you get like this kind of thing.

All new built in furniture, so changing it not an option.

Realistically I have too much stuff, big pot of make up brushes, open organiser with my foundations, primers etc. This is not my dressing table, but similar size and similar clutter with make up organised but still messy.

What are your max measurements in all dimensions? The depth would be the one I'd be most concerned about and think about how far the door would need to swing out right across your desk space.

This may be bonkers but would a spice rack be an option? Something ornate so it doesn't look too kitcheny, with wide gaps between the shelves for height of brushes very tentative stab at what I'm imagining.

Getting a custom cabinet made might not be as expensive as you imagine but it's a bit of a pain to sort out. I have done it in the past by finding the right sort of thing hand made on Etsy/eBay and asking for a price for a smaller custom one. Or if they are all too big you could find a key cabinet of the right dimensions and ask if they can put shelves in instead of hooks. This looks an OK size but the style may not fit with your decor https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1229671886/reclaimed-wood-indian-hand-painted

Wall shelves even if cluttered would really clear the visual clutter from your desk space. Again you can always ask sellers if they can tweak to your spec. https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/198453369/traditional-three-tier-wall-shelf-for or https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1239948464/country-shelves?ref=share_v4_lx
