Just something to bear in mind, at night you might not want a full light. We tend to use a night lamp in the corridor. But it's also a good idea to have a light in the bathroom, you don't want to fall down the toilet or something. So consider having a bright light and a low lamp/alternative at night.

A dimmer switch is a good idea. But would need to be outside the room I'm guessing. We have one of those loud pull switches, which in itself is enough to wake someone else up.
