How much did you laminate floor cost?

Always had carpet, thinking of getting a nice dark wood laminate in the living room.
Its 13ft by 14ft but I have no idea what cost I am looking at for it to be supplied and fitted with underlay etc. I don't want to go into the shop and have to run away squealing at the price so a ballpark idea would be fab!

Could anyone tell me what they paid please? I'm looking at 12mm as it seems to be the most durable and I want it to last.

Just a ball park would be amazing, am I looking at 300/400 or over a thousand?

It depends on the size of the room because they sell it by the squared metre. I paid £22 per square metre for mine.

It's relatively easy to work out a ball park.
For 12mm you are gonna be about £15-25 per square meter for the laminate, depending on what features/designs you want. Plus another £1-5 per square meter for underlay, again depending what features you want.

I'm not sure on fitting costs though as I fitted it myself, it's pretty straight forward for a novice diy-er.

Personally I went for 10mm thick laminate, it made fitting under doors much more straight forward and also came with a 25 year guarantee. Was £11 per meter about 5 years ago.
