recent IKEA Ektorp sofa purchases?!

We are looking to get new sofas for our lounge and I have read a lot on here about the Ektorp IKEA sofa. It seems that some are suggesting that it might not be quite a robust as it used to be so would love to hear if anyone has bought one in the last couple of years and how you are finding it? Was thinking we might need to spend a bit to get a decent sofa but reading on here seems to suggest you might not necessarily get what you pay for with sofas?! Thanks in advance!

We've had a corner one for over 10 years ....

Could do with something fresh cushions now but it's fab.

My parents have an Ektrop in their front room and TBH I don't think it's great. The back cushions seem to lose their shape easily and always need readjusting. It's just my parents who live at their house with visits from adult children and grandkids. My parents have had their Ektrop for the same length of time as I've had my sofa from DFS with two high energy kids climbing over it through lockdown. My sofa definitely looks better!

My friends have an Ikea Klippan and that thing could withstand a nuclear blast. But it is very upright and not for 'lounging' on.

Our back cushions don't need readjusting. Don't know if the corner sofa is different or if it's older? 2 crazy kids have grown up here and it's been great.

@Tablewaterandbrie hmm that sounds a bit frustrating. I had a klippan years ago and as you say, far from the most comfortable!!

Not recent, but we've had ours for 12 years now. Could do with some new covers but that's just me wanting a colour change! Would definitely buy another when this one needs replacing. Husband and I are significantly overweight too and it's been fine.
