Resources/courses to learn about interior design?

Not for a career change, but as a hobby and for making the most of my own home. Everything seems to be geared to becoming an accredited designer, I just want to learn more about principles and 'rules'.
Any good places I can look?

Try Udemy - I’ve just started an interior design basics course. Think it was about £17. Can just log on and do it whenever you want. There’s loads of different courses and skill levels to choose from.
There’s also Future Learn - I used this years ago for different courses and they were all free. I believe it may cost a little now but they also have a huge choice of subjects, including interior design.

I don't have any educational resources recommendations sadly, but there is a 3d design software for interior that is super helpful for working on house planning during the renovation process, so I highly recommend it!

Youtube is pretty good for this too.

Kate Watson-Smyth on Mad About the House has an Instagram account, used to do a free blog of the same name (now on Substack, so you have to pay for access to her archive) and has a podcast with Sophie Something, another ID, called The Great Indoors. She's also written several books. If you like her style and approach, she does online design courses. As does Sophie Something, her co-presenter on the podcast.
