Rug to go with curtains

Please can anyone advise what rug would look good with long curtains in this fabric? The window takes up most of one wall, so they dominate the room when they’re closed. We also have a forest green sofa, which takes up most of the adjacent wall, so a green rug would be too much, I think. I like patterned, oriental style rugs but that would probably be too much pattern.

Love the pattern - recently saw it as wallpaper in a bedroom with white linen and a coral throw and fell in love, it is beautiful. I'd go for jute on the floor.

Jute or a single coloured rug is a modern, simple way to style Morris &Co patterns that introduces a calm elegance. Originally, it would have been coordinated with other full on fabrics and milticouloured oriental carpets for a sense of abundance and celebration of patterns and craftmanship. Those other patterns wouldn't need to be in the same colours at all, rather eclectic choices instead of consciously picking out colours or pulling things together. So you could pair it with a traditional multicoloured Persian rug if that's your vibe. Or somewhere in the middle would be a multicoloured striped or checkered rug in the colours of the curtain.

I don't have any advice (except to echo that I'd probably go single coloured, maybe pale pink or yellow?) but these curtains are GORGEOUS!
