Ideas for bedside tables

We’ve just finished our loft conversion and I am breaking my head over the bedside tables. I was thinking of something in light wood to keep with the scandi/ nordic theme. I already ordered a pir from sweeek but they were cheap, yellowish imitation oak and just looked terrible. Other ideas for colour would also be great!

We’d probably want something 40-45 cm in width due to the radiator and storage being on each side. I’d put a bedside light on each table.

Budget would be maybe max 150 pounds per table.

A different colour?

We have some refurbed painted Stag bedside tables (not these ones but these give you an idea). Very well made and popular 30-40 years ago and you can either buy them ready painted or buy them pretty cheap to do yourself. We got some slightly taller ones with a pull out shelf for your morning cuppa and for the same price are so much nicer than anything new. Different styles.

We have an old chapel chair either side with a small storage basket tucked underneath. Bonus of handy book/phone storage in the hymn book slot at the back.

I would think a white one or alternatively you could go for black iron with a glass top. I would personally stay away from a traditional wood colour.
