European single mattress for a child

Hi

I've been given a beautiful house bedframe for my soon to be 3 year old but it takes a 200cm long single mattress.

Most of the ones that come in this size are either mostly foam (hot and I don't think they will last her) or have rubbish reviews.

As someone that shelled out £££ for a Hypnos mattress for myself, I'm wondering if anyone had any good recommendations for a long/European single mattress for a child that will last them a long time?

Thanks!

IKEA? We got one from Amazon during lockdown but because it’s on a high sleeper I can’t honestly say if it’s any good. My DS (10) hasn’t complained.

Stompa? We bought DS’s from there, pocket mattress. He seems happy with it.

Ikea definitely

@MotherOfCrocodiles and @D20 ikea only do European singles in foam only mattresses now. Pocket springs only in standard singles unfortunately.

Oh shoot, you are correct. I was waiting until next year to buy a sprung mattress for our son's Ikea bunkbed, upgrading him from is current foam. And we have an Ikea usefully close. That's annoying. I'll have to look at the other link posted above ...

Just had a quick hunt on the 'net, other than specialist bed/mattress suppliers, take a look at Wayfair - they list the continental sizes.

I think I might get a standard single and then a 10cm bit of foam to fill in the gap at the foot end.

which ikea mattresses do people recommend that last? Or better to go with Silentnight/Dreams?

We got a decent one in that size from Amazon of all places!

I have the same issue on two beds. Standard single is 190, the 10cm gap is not visible at all. Just get a standard single mattress.
I have two singles beds for two sons, one John Ryan which is all natural costs a fortune but I get a backache sleeping on it. The other is Joseph VIP pocket spring cost around £200 but it's the most comfortable mattress I've slept in, it's very firm.

I bought a mattress from odd sized beds-spring with a memory foam topper in a bespoke size. Very comfortable
