I have a large north facing kitchen, dining, family room (extended 1930s semi). Have white cupboards, white speckled granite worktops and island with grey cabinets underneath. Oak wood floors. The walls are elephants breath a lovely warm grey with a slight hint of purple. But it's time for a change what would you suggest?

Sage green?

Just realised we didn't use elephant's breath in the end. We went for dulux perfectly taupe. Any suggestions for something new?

@Funderthighs I like sage green but think we need something with a warm undertone

Slaked lime. Gorgeous warm ivory colour that changes with the light

@user701 thank you I like the slaked lime deep, that could definitely work if I am brave enough.

Starting our lounge shortly with skimming stone and Wimborne white . Just going to vacuum the walls and take curtains down

Think I should have gone for elephant’ breath. Skimming stone a little too gentle. Go darker, I say ‘dove tale’

@Mum5net that's a good shout too. Hope you get to love your skimming stone. It's a great colour

I have a north facing kitchen. Lower kitchen cupboards sprayed Elephants Breath. Upper cupboards and all walls, ceiling - Skimming Stone. It works. It’s all pretty subtle but there are good tones - and essentially for north facing - it has a warm feel. Floor are huge grey matt plain tiles. No gloss anywhere.

in another world I’d go crazy with colour - a friend has a green and pink kitchen and it works so well - but I know that long term I need neutral

Skimming stone can read warm. I have it as the base of a wallpaper (lotus) In my south facing dining room. In the sun it reads as the colour of dried plaster (pinky undertones)
