Glass kitchen cabinets?

Are these a good or bad idea? I'm trying to decide whether they will help with the look of the kitchen or whether they tend to just show off clutter?

Deoends what would go in them. If it’s just crockery then they look nice and add depth to the kitchen. Does make cleaning more of a pain though.

Different door types will make a small kitchen look cluttered but add interest to a big one.

Because I have large wall cupboards my kitchen fitter advised against filling them with heavy stuff, such as crockery. (His words: "be realistic"). A load of lightweight plastic boxes and cereal packets would look awful through glass doors.

They look lighter than solid door ones, and don't attract dust like open shelves. The glass on mine is opaque.

Depends what you would put in them and how tidy it would be, if its something attractive and kept tidy they can look good. If its untidy / not attractive things then no. Ours now have opaque glass.

Mine aren't opaque, but there's a pattern on them. I keep glasses, fancier items and the nice mugs in them. They're not particularly tidy but look ok.

A good and easy to remember rule is glass behind glass.

I reluctantly bought glass doors for my kitchen units as when I put in some more cupboards the original doors had been discontinued, so panelled glass doors were a better match. I put lace curtains inside so you can't see the mess inside!
