Colour ideas for small kitchen?

Small, fairly dark kitchen, with cream / ivory cupboards.

Everyone's told me to go light / pale... I'm tempted to go dark aubergine but terrified! Any safer ideas?

Adjacent living space is navy & blush.

Want to love it, but also thinking of selling next year so don't want to put folk off...

Sage green, botanicals, eucalyptus sort of colours. Mood boosting!

Psychology of colour- pale cool colours (blues/greens recede so make walls seem farther away, deep hot colours advance so bring walls in. It's possible to alter the apparent dimensions of a room by using colour appropriately.

Go for the colour you love. I believe its a myth that people.are put off by paint colours and bold choices.will actually help.potwntial buyers remember your house.

Also, dark colours can actually help 'blur' the edges of a room.and help them receed. So, of you love aubergine, go for it.
