Do you like my new tiles?

I was so worried how it would turn out but I love them! Pretty sad how excited I am about tiles.

On the flip side I am now having a wobble about paint colour in case it ruins everything. What would you suggest to go with this kitchen? There's not a huge amount of wall left in the kitchen but it runs into the dining area which would be painted the same colour so it feels like a big decision.

I'd settled on F&B Eddy but now I'm really not sure. We have a week to decide!

I have those tiles, they are lovely! 😁

Moderateorgoodoccasionallyverypoor · 02/11/2023 14:51

Ooh I really like those!
Where are they from?
No clue about colours though, it’s taken me 7 years to choose living room curtains because I couldn’t decide on colours.

StressyMessyJess · 02/11/2023 14:51

They look great. I love your hob too, wish I'd chosen a black one!

graciousmouse · 02/11/2023 14:52

Yes I think the F & B Eddy could work well. My instant thought was some sort of moss green. You need something not too dark but a little darker than the light colours to allow a contrast to the kitchen cupboards and tiles so it's not all too pale. Have you tried a tester pot on a small area? Might be worth giving it a go.

Stresa22 · 02/11/2023 14:53

They’re really nice and add a subtle texture to the area.

Kangarude · 02/11/2023 14:54

The tiles are beautiful. The whole of the kitchen I can see looks fabulous.
Can’t help with colour - sorry

WallTilesOfDreams1 · 02/11/2023 14:56

Thanks all!

@Moderateorgoodoccasionallyverypoor they are called Shiraz Pearl, if you google it you'll find them straightaway. Completely relate to your curtain indecisiveness!

That's good to hear @graciousmouse . I love eddy in the dining area but under the lights in the kitchen it looks barely there and almost white so I feel like it's not enough contrast. I've almost used up the whole tester pot it's dotted on every bit of wall but I'm still unsure. Maybe moss green is what I need to be looking for.

@WallTilesOfDreams1 maybe something a shade darker, but not too dark. You could possibly go for a kind of light to medium green / grey or something.

Those tiles are really nice. I think for the wall maybe a sage green or a light grey, depending on light levels.

Startagainjanuary · 04/11/2023 16:03

Lovely tiles you won’t want to cook now just in case you splash them! Black hob is nice too.

Jux · 04/11/2023 16:16

Your tiles are lovely!

Paintwise, yes Eddy's nice, but personally I think I'd go for somethingmore definite - Green/Blue (No 84) or even Lichen (No 19). Eddy would work well, however despite my prefs!

icantchangetime · 04/11/2023 16:20

Your wall colour should pick out your accessories so maybe take your cue from that?

What colour is the kettle, toaster and so on?

AudiobookListener · 04/11/2023 16:41

Totally fabulous.

SweetBirdsong · 04/11/2023 16:48

They're nice @WallTilesOfDreams1 Smile

ZenNudist · 04/11/2023 17:11

They look good. I got a sample for my bathroom but went with a more plain textured cream wall tile.

For green try dulux overtly olive.

different suggestion i think will work for your tiles, a nice browny grey or grayish brown called pressed putty also by dulux.

Hellers · 04/11/2023 18:13

Absolutely lovely

WallTilesOfDreams1 · 04/11/2023 19:29

Thanks all! This is how Eddy looks next to the tiles. I think it's nice but a bit meh ? Eddy works great in the dining area as there's lots of natural light, it looks a really nice sage colour. In the kitchen under artificial light it looks a bit nondescript/very close to white

@Slipknotted I love the bancha colour! I think a bold colour like this would really work, I'm just such a plain boring person it seems too much out of my comfort zone. I wish I was braver!

@icantchangetime unfortunately accessories are all cream as well...

@ZenNudist I think you're right, a pressed putty type colour would probably work quite easily. There is some brownish shading on the edge of the tiles. The kitchen colour is also putty, so we would just need something that is enough of a contrast.

I'm not sure on olive-type greens like Overtly Olive as they tend to have yellow undertones and I don't like that as much.

I have another 5 sage-ish samples coming on Monday... I'm the most indecisive person on the planet!

I love Bancha, our bathroom (including ceiling) is painted in it but it is a lot darker in real life than most publicity photos suggest. Our bathroom has 2 windows (facing east and south) and is a really bright room but bancha is only ever that lovely green you see above in full sunlight, most of the time it's a very dark olive. Gorgeous and moody though.

scrunchmum · 06/11/2023 16:39

How about F&B French gray (actually green despite its name)
Or vert de terre
