How secure are ceiling hooks for plants?!

I'd love to hang a plant from my ceiling, but don't like the idea of it someday crashing down, bringing chunks of plaster with it! I'm thinking of a plant with a fairly small diameter, e.g. about 13cm, but trailing down potentially quite a long way.

I'd be grateful to hear anyone's experiences of ceiling hooks for plants, and how reliably they stay up!

If you can screw it to a beam using a rawlplug it should be very sturdy!

As above, you need to find where the joist runs above the ceiling and screw it into that.
