Colour scheme for living room

Im looking to rececorate the living room. Pretty sure I'm going to go for dark grey sofas and possibly very pale grey walls. But I'd like an accent colour. I have a chimney breast I'd like to do in a contrasting colour, and I fancy a colourful wingback armchair.

I was originally going to go for mustard yellow but then started a new job and the corporate colour scheme is grey and yellow so that knocked that on the head 😄

I love teal, but I already have that colour in the kitchen.

For context its a quite small living room but with huge double aspect windows go pretty light.

Any ideas? Links too would be great thanks.

what colour is it now? Will a change to grey be a huge contrast?

Navy is good with grey. Smart and wasy to add more colours if wanted. Really, pretty much any colour goes with grey though.

It's cream and brown. Awful and so dated.
It's going to be a full change, ripping out a fireplace, changing the flooring. Nothing will remain!

Yes I've considered navy. Also emerald green

If I'm.hinest, I'm not a massive fan of grey. However, I'm even less of a fan of grey with bright colours to 'jazz it up'! Hence, the more subtle navy choice, makes for a sophisticated take.

This kind of think is what I think is lovely
Grey or this Navy

However, I know some people.love a pop, so maybe go russet, peach, oranges? Less common the emerald and not a million miles from your initial yellow.

I'd go for navy as an accent wall colour but I'd add in some art work and soft furnishings with some colour to them that still have grey or navy within them to keep it cohesive.

Tk maxx are usually good for nice cushions, but depending on taste, something like this would work:

Grey walls with dark grey sofas just sounds ‘corporate lobby’, and pretty much forces you to do twee ‘pops’ of colour, otherwise you look as if you’re in a black and white film. What about dark grey sofas with a warmer wall colour? What does the rest of your house look like, and how old is it — what kind of look do you favour? We have F and B Dead Salmon and Colourtrend Juniper Whorl wall colours in bright living rooms, but it’s a Victorian house and may not be your thing.

Some great ideas, thanks. I wasn't hung up on grey so slme good food for thought.

Don’t go grey, it’s getting really dated now and so utterly ubiquitous

I’d go greens. Grey everything screams cold and a workplace.
