Help me find the ideal livingroom light please!!!

Oh I’m really struggling…here’s the ask…
1950s built house - north facing large square living room. real flame gas fire, paint colour TBD, soft furnishings cream and brown, …going for a warm cosy vibe. Can’t have exposed bulbs (as they bring on DH migraines!). Dislike multiple bulb lighting set ups (not sure how to to explain but don’t like this style https://www.johnlewis.com/john-lewis-anyday-lulu-3-arm-ceiling-light/p148924)
nothing too low hanging as the ceilings are not that high (240cm)
will have a standing lamp and a table lamp also but would be good if main light could be reasonably bright to be used alone if needed.
budget..could go up to £300.
any inspiration for me?

Sounds like you need a single drop light with a statement light shade.

I personally like the rattan/straw effect ones and they make my style look cosy

Oh thank you for these suggestions! I think the dunelm one is closest…quite subtle and unobtrusive. I can’t decide if it looks too 50s though? It’s a 50s home and while super modern would look out of place, I dont want it to feel like a throwback to the 50s either.

I don't think it looks too 50s at all, sixties possibly. It looks good to me.

I have a similar one to this in my living room though mine is a bit more tiered. I love it and it makes a gentle sound when the windows are open and there is a breeze in the summer

I'd go for more lamps and scrap a ceiling light altogether. We have two of our lamp sockets wired up in our living room so that they come on when we turn on the light switch. Or go with bulbs that you can program to come on at certain times if that's too much faff.
