Sofas...no such thing as stylish AND comfortable!

Have been round the usual places, nothing standing out, all the super stylish ones are far too squishy and look like they'll sag before long and the most comfortable ones look like bachelor pad style lay z boys! Surely there's such a thing as a stylish sofa that feels supportive?

I prefer the look of lower backed sofas so this will always be at odds with a very supportive sofa anyway. I like the lighter looking mid century stuff, but some if them you just seemed to roll to the side or feel like it would swallow you up!

I guess it depends what you call stylish. I also like mid-century sofas with low backs - and, for what it's worth, I like them curved and asymmetrical. I have seen a good half-dozen of my ideal sofas. They tend to cost upwards of £10k. As I'm broke and live in a rabbit hutch, the sofa I've actually got is neither stylish nor comfortable 😬 I'm constantly adding & replacing bits, in an attempt to make it comfortable at least!

The best sofas have springs and fibre filling, like beds. That whacks up the price. A good foam-only one is made of at least two different densities, one of which is very firm and resilient. That stuff is also expensive.

Keep hunting! More of 'our' style sofas are hitting the market all the time now; you'll find the one you want.

I went round about 6 furniture shops and tried every single sofa. The one I liked the best and was the most comfortable was the Izzy sofa from sofa.com.
