Kitchen design ideas - please help!

Hi everyone - hoping some creative types are reading.

We have seen a house online that looks lovely. Haven't looked around yet but we are interested in doing so. The only thing is the kitchen - which is actually fine but if we went for it, we would want to put our 'stamp' on it. Assuming everything works, etc. it's perfectly functional but I'm looking for ideas of what to do with it, fairly easily/on a low budget, to make it look 'new'. Can anybody help? I've never done so much as paint a door, so I need some guidance!

The rest of the house looks like it's a sort of modern/country style. Our current kitchen is much more modern (floor to ceiling storage, no wall cupbaords, etc.). I like the floor tiles but I wonder if the rest can be 'pimped'. Any ideas?

Thank you!

PS, I hate microwaves but nevertheless find that I need one (i.e. we'll need to have it, but I don't want to showcase it or preferably even see it!)

I'd replace the doors with plain ones and put a blind up at the window. That would give a completely new look for not too much money.

Bit hard to tell from the pic, but are the worktops the ceramic tiles that are behind the cooker? Because I'd have to get shot of those.
Agree plain doors would look much nicer if you can afford them

I'd leave it as it is but put the microwave on wall brackets, not have things on top of the cupboards and get everything not used daily off the counters.

Thank you! Where do I get new doors for kitchen cabinets?

I'd replace the tile worktops and paint the kitchen a darker teal.

Plus possibly replace the same tiles behind the cooker.
