Carpet advice please!

Grateful for any advice please !
Stuck between 2 samples for a large family room ( gets moderate amount of traffic as kids usually hang out in a small TV room)

Woven wool vs neutral synthetic as per pics
Both placed beside hall & kitchen floors for context( room can be open plan with paler kitchen floor)

I look the look of the woven but not sure how it would work on a larger space ,and the synthetic is softer ..but not sure if it looks dated 🙈

Is this to replace the blue carpet?
Are you sure you want something that pale in an area you describe as moderate traffic?

Personally, I prefer the one you can see the shoe imprints on, rather than the textured one that looks very commercial (I'm thinking school carpet), but I think I'd keep looking.
