Hi there, we have just moved into a new house and my young daughters bedroom is painted a very dark colour. The room itself feels very dark and I'd like to change the colour. Can I ask though, is the direction the room is facing determined by where the window is? If so I think it's north facing which I guess will only suit certain colours. Thanks

Yes, that's right.

Thanks @thedevilinablackdress. Does anyone know what sort of colours would suit a large, quite dark, north facing child's bedroom? Many thanks

my daughter's bedroom is similar and we went for Citron Yellow from F&B - a very bright colour that really makes the room more lively. and lots of pictures / bookshelves etc on the walls too.

My son's room is North facing. He really wanted a space room when we moved so his room is all pale greys/bold blues. I've attached a photo.

It helps that he has an absolutely massive window (as we do in all the rooms, buying curtains is a nightmare!) but we find that the room isn't overly dark.

It will largely depend on when the room is used too. While I agree that you don't want it too dark, if she's only in there when sleeping then it needn't be sunshine yellow either.
