Duvet cover recommendations

I have the best duvet cover in the world already but it’s close to 8 years old and, though it still looks good, I’ve noticed a couple of tiny holes which I know will only get worse 😔
So I’m looking for a replacement.

I bought it in ikea but even a couple of months after I bought it and went looking for a spare, they tried to fool me with an almost identical pattern but it was not the same. I think it cost £13 so I kick myself every time I have to put a different one on.

It has a zip fastening and came with 4 pillowcases which also zip up. I love this!! Fucking hate poppers and buttons.
I’ve no idea what the fabric is but it’s soft and washes brilliantly. Never creases. Dries quickly; even if I have to hang it up inside I can usually get it back on the bed same day. It feels warm in winter and cool in summer. Obviously not cotton, but I don’t mind that.

Hit me up with your favourites which either have all the same features or convince me to accept change 🤞

I have never ever seen a duvet cover or pillows with zips.
Most have buttons or poppers.
The only things with zips I've seen are duvet allergy covers and pillow slips to go under the cover.

I saw a nice one in John Lewis that fastened with ties.

It depends what you want. Colour? Pattern?

I buy 100% cotton because anything else is too warm, and always white from John Lewis or The White Company (but in their sales.)

Cotton sateen…so soft (yes it needs an iron but stick it on and run over it with the iron while it’s on the bed (lazy I know ha ha) BUT good quality and soft and luxurious. (The one I have is from Asda and has buttons but was reasonable price)
you may have a soft polyester one if it doesn’t crease.

Thanks for suggestions.
I was in ikea today and still looking for the grail.
Nothing feels the same 😔

My decor is quite neutral so white/grey/black either plain or patterned. Prefer not all white though just because I struggle to keep them as white as they started.

A duvet with a zip?? Sounds bloody brilliant!!!!

My winter duvet cover is from Dunelm and duvet cover, pillowcases all have zips. I love that!

bellac11 · 16/09/2023 21:27

I have 2 with zips, I think they are Dorma, from Dunelm

Fab! I’ll have a look at Dunelm. I’m so excited 😆
I’ve no idea why zips aren’t a thing on duvet covers.

Possibly because zips do fail and then they are useless. They might not wear well on a 60C wash either.

My zips have been fine and in the worse case scenario, I would take the zip to be mended, not just chuck the covers out

The Dorma range is really good quality, they look and feel amazing and Ive had them a couple of years now

I only buy 100% though I think they also do some poly cotton ranges.
